Savusavu Dive Sites
Savusavu is a diving destination that blends thrilling big fish action with soft and hard coral gardens on a range of dive sites in the Koro Sea and in Savusavu Bay. This pristine region is also the gateway to the legendary Namena Marine Reserve when the weather allows access.
Whether you are an adrenaline-seeking drift diver or a macro enthusiast scouring vibrant reefs for nudibranchs and rare critters, Savusavu delivers an unforgettable experience at every depth.
With balmy 25- 32°C waters, visibility often exceeding 25 metres and a year round diving season, each descent reveals why these waters are considered the soft coral capital of the world.
Dreamhouse
A coral crowned sea mount marked by a beautiful coastal property Dreamhouse is famous for scalloped hammerhead shark encounters. Barracuda and grey reef sharks are often seen on the edge of the drop off.
Hard and soft corals populate the sea mount and friendly batfish and turtles are often seen.
A dive site accessible for all abilities with depths ranging from 13 to 25 metres.

Purple Garden
Adorned with pink and purple soft corals, red sea whips and gorgonian fans Purple Garden is another favourite dive site in Savusavu - a short distance from Dreamhouse
Large numbers of fusilliers circle the reef mixing with trevally and barracuda.
Spot nudibranchs, leaf scorpionfish, turtles and various species of clownfish in resident anemones.
Golden Nuggets
Golden Nuggets is located inside Savusavu Bay with the name coming from stunning golden yellow soft corals which dominate the underwater landscape.
The golden soft corals provide a home for resident red soldierfish and anthia schools. The two bommies are also host to lion fish, scorpionfish, long nose hawkfish, moray eels and trumpetfish.
Watch the blue for snapper schools, reef sharks and bright blue fussilier schools.

Namena Island Marine Reserve
Diving at Namena Marine Reserve is widely considered one of the pinnacles of Fiji diving. Located off the south coast of Savusavu, a 40 minute to 1 hour boat ride depending conditions, Namena Reserve is a 'no take' horseshoe-shaped reef. The marine reserve status was awarded in 1997 making it Fiji's oldest and largest marine park and allowing it to flourish into one of the most pristine reef systems in the South Pacific.
Expect pelagics such as grey reef sharks, marble rays, eagle rays, tuna and Spanish mackerel with pilot whales and dolphins commonly seen from the boat. Vibrant soft corals carpet the reef in every colour from pastel purples to oranges.

Grand Central Station
Grand Central is an aptly named site on the edge of the Namena Reserve dived on an incoming current into the pass. The currents concentrate nutrients making it a bustling underwater metropolis.
Grey reef and white tip sharks are common, msassive schools of barracuda, trevally and snapper can be seen. Hammerheads, tuna and even marlin can be spotted by lucky divers.
After drifting along a sharp drop off watching the deep blue for pelagics an array of utterly spectacular soft coral covered bommies emerge. Pinks, reds, purples and yellow festooned sea mounts bustle with colourful reef fish in every colour of the rainbow.
A fantastic dive.
Chimneys
Chimneys site features three large coral pinnacles that start at 22.5 metres and rise to 3 metres of the surface resembling towering chimneys.
The pinnacles are bursting with life and draped in beautiful pink, red and purple soft corals. Anemone fish, angelfish, wrasse and hawkfish are common on the reef and barracuda, trevally and sharks are present in the blue.
